Applying Tacteasy -Gesture Recognition to Commanding System
The needs to hand-gesture recognition
In the three dimensional compositive displaying system, commander can control viewport to move or zoom in or out around the scene. But generally, in this system, it can make sure that commanders can watch the environment of battlefield globally and can master the battle information timely so as to make their decision or evaluation quickly.
The means of interactive controlling is mainly directly interactive mode by infrared or camera locating. The users can operate the three dimensional compositive displaying system directly with pens , fingers or theses, instead of traditional input equipments such as mouse, keyboard and so on . the three dimensional compositive displaying system supports scene roaming ,pushing-and-pulling far and near ,arbitrary location and observation in angle of pitch. The users can shift many functions with different gestures, as the followings:
a. Scene roaming
In the main window of scene, when one’s several fingers by single hand move towards some direction, the system can adjust the area of observation timely according to the dragging displacement.
b. Pushing-and-pulling far and near
In the main window of scene, when one’s fingers by pair of hands go against the same or different direction, the sighting distance will be decreased or increased to realize pushing-and-pulling far and near so as to realize reducing and enlarging the scene observation area and even reducing and enlarging the objects in the scene.
c. Adjustment of location at pitch angle
In the main window of scene, as the following pictures, 1 finger staying still, 2 finger moves circling around 2 fingers. Then the system can adjust the area of observation timely according to the dragging displacement. Such as moving to left / right, adjusting the orientation of observation to clockwise/ counter-clockwise, moving to up/down, increasing /decreasing pitch angle from 0 to 90°.
d. Designated watch point
In the navigation window, clicking the expected focus for observing, the main scene will adjust the status to appointed area quickly.
e. Reposition
In the main window of scene, one’s palm stays still on the surface of the board for 3 seconds; the system will see the current status as the defaulting status.
